6. Straw Vote for 2020 Mayor
In order for the future Mayor to reach out to volunteers for possible appointments to committees and commissions for 2020, it is beneficial to know in advance who the future mayor will be. Therefore, a “straw vote” by the members of the 2020 Township Committee is taken at the first meeting following the November General Election. Committeewoman Elect Fernandez is invited to participate.

Ordinance #2019-012 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4-1 ENTITLED “SOLICITING, CANVASSING, AND PEDDLING” OF CHAPTER IV ENTITLED "GENERAL LICENSING” OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF BEDMINSTER. This Ordinance amends the Township’s regulations and license requirements for the soliciting, canvassing and peddling in the Township. The public hearing for this Ordinance is scheduled for December 2, 2019 at 7:00 pm, One Miller Lane, Bedminster, NJ.

Ordinance #2019-011 – AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TOWNSHIP TO ACCEPT THE GRANT OF AN AGRICULTURAL EASEMENT FROM ROBERT SCULLY AND NANCY PERETSMAN. This Ordinance authorizes the Township to accept a deed of conservation and agricultural easement from Robert Scully and Nancy Peretsman, for a portion of the property identified as Lot 24.08 in Block 8 and Lot 24.08 in Block 8 QFarm, located at 1400 Black River Road, Bedminster, New Jersey.

Resolution #2019-114 – Review of OPMA and OPRA Laws
The Municipal Clerks Association of NJ, working with the Executive Director of the Government Records Council Senator Loretta Weinberg, is proposing a Commission to review and examine the effects of OPRA on local government and the needs to be fulfilled by the laws, and use the Commission’s findings to perform a comprehensive reform of OPRA. This Resolution supports this proposal and is to be distributed to various lawmakers

Vacant Property/Zombie House Maintenance
Sub-Committee to be organized, do some fact finding, review current ordinances and look to see how other towns address this issue and make recommendations back to the Township Committee. (Cm Stevinson, Cw Mareski)

Short-Term Rentals
Landlord registrations have increased due to this investigation. A copy of correspondence from the Zoning Official to landlords is being provided to the Township Committee regularly.

Engine Braking
Excessive noise complaints from residents near Rt. 206 regarding engine braking has prompted the placement of a portable sign reminding truckers to refrain from engine braking on Rt. 206 near Old Dutch Road later in the fall.

Pluckemin Park
Inspection of the property by Code Enforcement and Zoning revealed several violations that have been settled in court and repairs have been completed.

JCP&L Outages
JCP&L continues to meet with local representatives regarding the status of the repair projects in Bedminster with priority given to the Hills Development. Representatives from impacted neighborhoods have organized and will keep in contact with JCP&L regarding the repairs.
