Ordinance #2019-013 AN ORDINANCE CREATING SECTION 3-19 ENTITLED PROPERTY MAINTENANCE “VN” VILLAGE NEIGHBORHOOD ZONE to be added to the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of Bedminster. This Ordinance creates regulations for property or buildings characterized by deteriorating or abandoned buildings or land which exhibit a lack of continued maintenance and upkeep, including land or a building with debris, litter, deteriorating paint or siding, accumulation of trash or junk, all, or any of which may tend to depress the aesthetic value of a neighborhood.

Purchase of an Island Mounted Fuel Controller
The current fuel distribution system, located behind the DPW building, that supplies fuel to the DPW, Police, Fire Departments and First Aid Squad is in disrepair and needs to be replaced with a new system.

Short-Term Rentals
Landlord registrations have increased due to this investigation. A copy of correspondence from the Zoning Official to landlords is being provided to the Township Committee regularly.

Engine Braking
Excessive noise complaints from residents near Rt. 206 regarding engine braking has prompted the placement of a portable sign reminding truckers to refrain from engine braking on Rt. 206 at Old Dutch Road from time to time.

Pluckemin Park
Inspection of the property by Code Enforcement and Zoning revealed several violations that have been settled in court and repairs have been completed. Inspectors are monitoring complaints from the residents.

JCP&L Outages
JCP&L continues to meet with local representatives regarding the status of the repair projects in Bedminster with priority given to the Hills Development. Representatives from impacted neighborhoods have organized and will keep in contact with JCP&L regarding the repairs.
