Applying for a Permit to Carry a Handgun
The application process for permit to carry a handgun is now electronic. Please follow the below instructions:
Application Procedures for Applicants
Step 1: Log on to: Application for Permit to Carry a Handgun
Step 2: Bedminster Twp. Police Department's ORI #: NJ0180100
**If an incorrect ORI number is entered, you will NOT receive a Permit to Carry a Handgun. You will then have to re-apply using the correct ORI number and pay for the process again. A refund can not be issued.
Step 3: Complete the online application. You may complete the application utilizing a smartphone, mobile device, laptop, or desktop computer.
Step 4: You must appear at the Bedminster Police Department to pay for your Permit to Carry a Handgun. Your application will not be processed until you have paid. Non-refundable payment is required to be made prior to the completion of the background as per NJSC 13:54.1.4.
