CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE
The following are the requirements for the resale and rental of one & two family dwellings in order to obtain a Certificate of Compliance
Portable Fire Extinguishers:
SIZE: Portable Fire Extinguishers are required on resale and rental of one & two family dwellings. The requirement is that the Fire Extinguisher does NOT exceed 10 lbs. (The NFPA recommends a 2A/10 BC dry chemical UL rated).
LOCATION: Visibly mounted within 10 feet of kitchen. Height not to exceed 5'. Cannot be behind a door or inside a cabinet.
REQUIREMENTS: Fire Extinguisher should be mounted, labeled, charged and operable, UL Rated, instructions visible or attached.
Carbon Monoxide:
Outside bedroom(s) place in hallway within 10' of each bedroom doorway.
In a one bedroom condo place inside bedroom.
Smoke Detectors:
One on each level is required.

HOW DO I ARRANGE FOR GARBAGE PICKUP?
Bedminster Township does not provide garbage pickup. Owners will need to arrange for this service.
If you live in the Hills and are not receiving this service, contact your management association for further information.

SMOKE DETECTOR & CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM COMPLIANCE
Prior to the sale or lease of any residential structure or any change in occupancy for residential purposes, the owner shall obtain a certificate of smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm compliance (CSDCMAC) with the Bedminster Township Fire official. The application is available in Bedminster Town Hall, One Miller Lane. Inspections will NOT be scheduled without payment. The fees for a CSDCMAC are based on the amount of time remaining before the change of occupancy.

For your convenience our Office Hours are as follows:
Municipal Building Hours are from 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday
Municipal Court Hours are from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday
Court is held every Tuesday at 11:00am
Police Department - Although the Police are on call 24 hours a day the "office for business" is open from 7:30am to 12:00pm returning at 1:00pm to 4:00pm Monday through Friday, as well as Saturday 8:00am to 11:00am and Monday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm
Department of Public Works - Work hours are from 7:30am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday
WHEN DOES BEDMINSTER TOWNSHIP HAVE BRUSH AND LEAF PICK-UP and CHRISTMAS TREE DISPOSAL?
Brush and Leaf Policy
Brush Collection
- Brush collection will begin on the Fourth Monday in April.
- Residents will be restricted to 1 (one) pile of brush per property – 6’ long x 4’ wide x 2’ high pile of bush. Piles should be stacked neatly so that all but ends are facing the road edge. No stumps.
- If a brush pile exceeds the restricted size the pile will be tagged and left. It will be the responsibility of the homeowner to dispose of.
- Residents must have brush a the curb no later than 8:00am of the Fourth Monday in April.
- The Public Works facility will still be open for brush drop off Monday – Friday 7:30am – 3:00pm.
- The crew will only collect on streets once. Any resident who places brush at the curb after the crew has collected from that street, will be responsible for removing their pile. Please check the Bedminster Township website for an updated list of completed streets. www.bedminster.us.
- Absolutely no leaves will be picked up during brush collection.
- Collection will only take place for residents who live on the following roads: Any residents who live on private roads are prohibited from placing a brush pile on or along a public road. The Public Works facility is available for drop off Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm.

Leaf Collection
- Collection begins on or about the last Monday in October, and will continue through to November 30th.
- Leaves shall be placed at the edge of the roadway, not in the roadway, to allow free flow of traffic, and must be out for pick up by 8:00am on the fourth Monday in October.
- Crews will continue to cover roads until piles have been collected, however crews will only cover roads 3 times. Please check the Bedminster Township website for an updated list of completed roads. www.bedminsterus.
- Any resident that places leaves at the road edge after November 30th will be tagged and become the responsibility of the resident to remove from the road edge. The Public Works facility is available for drop off Monday – Friday 7:00am o 3:30pm.
- Absolutely no brush or sticks are permitted to be added to the leaf pile. No brush will be picked up during leaf collection. Piles that consist of leaves and brush will be tagged and left.
- No leaves shall be left in plastic bags (Recyclable leaf bags are acceptable).

Special Fall Brush and Leaf drop off ONLY:
- The Public Works facility will open for a special brush and leaf drop off only. Residents can bring their brush and leaves to the Public Works facility the second Saturday in November between the hours of 7:00am – 2:00pm.
- NO LANDSCAPERS will be permitted to drop off brush or leaves at the facility
Severe weather situations:
- As a result of extreme weather conditions the Township will evaluate the need to do a Township wide brush collection. If it is deemed necessary to have a collection, the specific information will be posted on the township website. www.bedminser.us.
Christmas Tree collection:
Residents are welcome to drop off their Christmas trees to the Public Works facility Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:30am – 3:00pm.
AT ANY POINT THE TOWNSHIP RESERVES THE RIGHT TO EVALUATE ANY POLICY AND IMPLEMENT ANY FEES AND/OR CHANGES NECESSARY.
WHEN IS A SNOW EMERGENCY DECLARED?
A snow emergency is declared after a snowfall of more than three inches. Plowing starts on the snow emergency routes first and then go to side streets.
WHERE DO I APPLY FOR A DOG OR CAT LICENSE?
Township Dog and Cat Licenses are handled by the Animal Registrar, located at One Miller Lane, Bedminster, NJ 07921. Questions can be directed to the Animal Registrar, Janine DeLeon at 908-212-7000 x 427.
