Bedminster Nature Trails
The Township of Bedminster has restored a system of nature trails within the Township's River Road Park. Approximately 5 miles of natural, multi-use trails span over 240 acres of forest surrounded by grasslands, the North Branch of the Raritan River, wetlands, ponds, and vernal pools. This important, scenic area with its diverse ecology is host to over twenty-five Endangered, Threatened and Of Concern species. The site has been identified by the NJ Audubon Society as a Provisional Important Bird Area.
The trails feature trailhead facilities, benches, points of interest, and trail linkages to the Township's paved hike & bike trail and equestrian trails. The nature trails enable visitors to experience, appreciate and learn about our local Bedminster ecology and scenic landscape safely without detriment to the ecology and landscape.
The marked nature trails are accessible from three trail head area's within the Township's River Road Park identified on the map below.
Nature Trail Maps are on each trail head. To download a copy of the map, please click on the file below. For questions about the nature trails, please contact the Recreation Department on (908) 212-7000, ext. 405.
